Being pregnant is an amazing time in your life and doing yoga while pregnant can help you feel strong and healthy as you move into motherhood. This special 4-week series is for new and experienced yoga mamas in all trimesters of their pregnancy. Learn how to safely modify poses to accommodate your favorite yoga classes and connect with other moms. Learn to trust your body’s wisdom, relax your body, quiet your mind, and follow your breath.
Week 1: Centering / Breath Work / Meditation
Week 2: Mountain Pose / Standing Poses/ Sun Salutations Modifications
Week 3: What to do in place of poses on the belly/ Healthy backbends/ Reclined poses
Week 4: Movement/ Enjoying a flow class

Dr. Pam Smith has been practicing yoga on and off since college. While working on her doctorate in education, she decided to shift her focus (to the chagrin of her husband) and went to medical school at the University of Louisville. Dr Pam (as her patients call her) has been practicing ob/gyn since 1991 in Portsmouth, Norfolk, and Chesapeake. Now that she works part time practicing office gynecology at Greenbrier Ob/Gyn in Chesapeake, she has had time to complete her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification at River Yoga in Suffolk, VA and is thrilled to be teaching prenatal workshops at Breathe Yoga Center.
